    Event Description:
Kaehler Luggage Kicks off 100th Anniversary with
Luggage for Freedom Drive Throughout February 2020

Gently used luggage donations assist victims of domestic violence; drop-offs accepted at all four Kaehler Luggage locations before February 29.

WINNETKA, IL (February 4, 2020) — In commemoration of its 100-year anniversary, fourth-generation travel outfitter, Kaehler Luggage, is kicking off a year-long series of charitable and celebratory events.  The series will be launched with Kaehler’s annual Luggage for Freedom drive in support of women transitioning out of domestic violence shelters. Throughout the month of February, the public is encouraged to drop-off a gently used bag at any of its four locations (Winnetka, Highland Park, Hinsdale and 900 North Michigan in Chicago). In exchange, each donor will receive a discount  toward a new bag from Briggs & Riley. Receive a $100 credit by donating a Brigg s& Riley rolling bag or a $50 credit for donating a non Briggs & Riley rolling bag.

Throughout February, all in-store customer purchases will also be entered into a drawing to win a free Briggs & Riley Baseline Carry-On Spinner.

At the end of the month, National Council of Jewish Women's (NCJW) Chicago North Shore section will collect and pack the gently used bags with new personal and household items, including new towels, new sheets and new toiletries, to help women and their children start a new chapter in their lives with pride and dignity.

“Over the past 16 years, Kaehler Luggage has collected hundreds of pieces of luggage for women in need through its partnership with the Luggage for Freedom program,” said third-generation owner Buzz Kaehler. “The generosity of our customers over the years inspires us to continue this tradition for such a worthy cause.”

Luggage for Freedom is part of Kaehler Luggage’s 100th anniversary series of customer appreciation and charitable events, to be held monthly throughout the year at each of its Chicago, Highland Park, Hinsdale and Winnetka locations.
