Welcome Service
The Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce sponsors a Welcome Service Program for new residents who move into the Hinsdale area. Once a month the Chamber direct mails each home a package containing a Community directory, a map and literature from participating Chamber members who participate in the Welcome Service Program.

The village road map includes advertising opportunities for local businesses as well as an overview of the Chamber and the entire community.
Voice of Business
The Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce represents approximately 70% of the retail and professional community in the Village of Hinsdale. The Chamber maintains a good working relationship with the Village of Hinsdale government; this relationship allows the Chamber to bring concerns of the retail community directly to the Village and seeks solutions mutually beneficial to both parties.
Make New Business Contacts/Networking
The Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce sponsors "Business After Hours" from September through June. These events are hosted by various businesses at night and offer members a chance to network with approximately 40 - 50 other Chamber members in attendance.
Our Wednesday Speaker Luncheon Series is held on the third Wednesday of the month at Ashton Place, 75th and Clarendon Hills Road in Willowbrook. Speakers at the luncheon include businessmen, computer experts, local legislators and judges. As part of this series, in April we encourage all businesses to treat their Secretaries/Assistants to a luncheon that includes gift bags, raffle prizes and a guest speaker. In 2000 the Chamber welcomed Mary Schmich, Chicago Tribune columnist.
Membership Adds Credibility to Your Business
Membership in the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce signifies that you are a member of a seventy-five year old organization that has a proud history of providing the best to its members. Chamber members are stable, they offer the best of services to their customers and have committed to being a member of a larger image that people are familiar with.
Business Referrals
Only Chamber members are referred when a phone call requesting service comes into the Chamber office. Members are sent a postcard notification when a referral is made. Other Chamber members who are familiar with services offered always recommend a fellow Chamber member.
Member to member discounts
As a member of the chamber, you will be entitled to use a "chamber discount" card, which will allow you to receive discounts at any other participating chamber members business. You simply show this card when you are dealing with another chamber member to take advantage of their discount offer. In order to participate you need to offer a discount to other chamber members. Chamber Checks
This gift check is good for merchandise and services purchased from any business maintaining a membership in the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce. The checks can be made out for any amount, with a ten-dollar minimum purchase required for each check. It can be used for many types of goods and services including: Shopping at Local Retailers, Cellular Services & Accessories, Meals at Local Restaurants, Dental & Medical Services, Groceries, Travel expenses, Legal Services and many other areas.

Gain Business and Community Information
The Chamber offers a monthly newsletter which highlights members, current and future events of the Chamber and reprints of any interesting literature the Chamber office has received that can benefit the general membership. The Chamber office also maintains an extensive library of small business information provided by the College of DuPage.

Seminars/Training/Workshops
The Chamber has offered workshops in theft prevention, presented by the Police Department of Hinsdale. Plans for the future include seminars on window decoration, developing and changing your business plan as the needs arise and dealing with tax information. Any member is welcome to submit ideas to the Chamber office.
Participation Opportunities
As a member of the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce you are eligible to participate as a volunteer for any of our special events, serve as a committee member, or be elected to serve on the chamber board of directors for a three year term.
