About Us

Assistance League is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers volunteers to make a difference in their local communities. Located in Hinsdale since 1996, Assistance League of Chicagoland West serves over 2800 children and adults in need living in the western suburbs of Chicago each year. We seek to make our communities stronger through these programs which support education and self-reliance, while fostering a sense of community:

Operation School Bell - New winter coats, hats and gloves for school kids in need;
Early Reading - Literacy backpacks for low-income children;
New Start - Essential kitchen equipment for families leaving homelessness for independent living;
Scholars Support - Scholarships for students in need at College of DuPage.

Since 1996, Assistance League has raised over $1,000,000 to support these programs. Our largest fundraiser is Books & Brunch, a charity luncheon held in November, that features three authors speaking to nearly 450 attendees about their lives and work.
